An ultra-rare early rock n' roll / doo-wop single from The Chessman, "The Keeper Of My Love" b/w "Why," appears to be the only single this mysterious group recorded. Side A is a beautiful ballad, capably sung by a vocalist we assume is named Bobby, according to the information on the original label. Side B is an up-tempo rocker featuring some wild guitar lines and a doo-wop style vocal chorus. Originally released in 1958 on the short-lived, New York City based Safari label, this rare gem is presented here newly remastered.
