"Our back catalog is an American treasure and should be in the Smithsonian, " says bassist and co-founder Cris Kirkwood. "Megaforce is doing a huge service to the planet to make sure our music continues to get into the hands of everyone who needs to have the coolest record collection on the block."

American metalcore stalwarts Atreyu make a passionate return to the hearts of fans everywhere with The Pronoia Sessions - a new collection that deconstructs, recreates, and reshapes eight of their greatest hits and two nostalgic tribute covers. The genesis stretches back to a series of acoustic performances at special events on the road. "We had the idea to do a show similar to Nirvana's MTV Unplugged as a one-off thing," explains frontman Brandon Saller. "Then we thought, 'Why not spend some time on it in the studio?' And it built from there. 'How far can we push this?' It spawned from there and unexpectedly turned into this monster." What began as an acoustic album evolved into a grand re-imagining of Atreyu classics.

Limited colored vinyl LP pressing. Back in 2006, Richard Linklater's film adaptation of Philip K Dick's sci-fi novel A Scanner Darkly was greeted with suspicion. No one had done justice to the "master" (Bladerunner, Minority Report, Total Recall, The Adjustment Bureau had or have all met with mixed reviews). And, movies attempting to conjure up the effects of drugs were met with derision from the stoned cognoscenti. How could a story of dependence on Substance D ("Death" for short) be created with multi-million dollar stars in the frame anyway? Linklater had a plan; He'd use rotoscoping (an effect that falls somewhere between Kiki Picasso's sketches brought to life and Disney on 'ludes). The celebrities would be shrouded in mystery, in fact Keanu Reeves' skin suit would make him almost invisible at times, a mumbling wreck swaying center stage. A waste of talent? A waste of money?
Limited blue splatter colored vinyl LP pressing. Following the cult success of the first 2 EPs, Common Saints presents the debut album \Cinema 3000\" the theme continues blending soul, funk, and psychedelic influences with the organic sound and rich instrumentation that Common Saints has become known for. Conceived in 2020 by writer / producer Charlie J Perry the production approach for Commons Saints consists of him playing and recording real instruments in his London home studio. One mike for the drums, his beloved piano and amps up loud! The album encapsulates the old school recording approach and musicianship the discerning ear craves but with a more modern punch - a true sonic bath for all the connoisseurs out there. Think UK's equivalent to Tame Impala and Khruangbin.
Double vinyl LP pressing. Having passed - at least figuratively - through hundreds of years over the course of their previous two albums, the good ship High Llamas docked, fully loaded, into a congenial present moment for once in it's life. O'Hagan's continued work with Tim Gane and Stereolab caused a healthy dose of electronica to spike the Llamas' already heady brew, creating an apex of late 90s-style neo-exotica. RIYL: Mouse On Mars, Oval, Grand Royal, Dots and Loops.
Limited sludge brown colored vinyl LP pressing. Tidal Memory Exo is the third album from Bristol-based musician Iglooghost, whose untethered music and forensically detailed worldbuilding has gained him an avid following. Made while squatting in an old MOT garage on the Kent Coast, Tidal Memory Exo sees Iglooghost take the fore as a vocalist for the first time. The album takes place in a coastal town cut off from the mainland and plagued by a never ending storm, where the locals have created their own music scene with genres such as 'sporestyle' and 'tektonikore'. Like previous records, there is a seemingly endless amount of lore to delve into on Tidal Memory Exo. CD and vinyl include two bonus tracks, Collision Data ft Marina Herlop and Diode Teeth.

For years, Childish Gambino's Atavista hid in plain sight. When he released an unfinished version of the record on March 15, 2020, it spent just 12 hours on his website before he pulled it down. Reappearing on streaming a week later as 3.15.20, the project brought up almost as many questions as sparkling neo-soul anthems, which still sounded slicker than the average as raw cuts titled after timestamps.
Atavista is an ode to impermanence, never more directly than over the glimmering guitar of "Time" with Grande. ("One thing's for certain, baby/We're running out of time," they harmonize on the chorus.) But in Gambino's capable hands, Atavista also slows down to enjoy the view, the sonic equivalent of a luxe leather-interior BMW cruising an open California highway. "I did what I wanted to," he revels on closing track "Final Church." Atavista took many shapes over the years to reach a final form. In each warm refrain, tight sequence, and carefully chosen collaborator, Gambino demonstrates why some things are worth waiting for.
The Human Fear is the sixth studio album from Franz Ferdinand.

Recorded at AYR studios in Scotland, the 11 songs on The Human Fear all allude to some deep-set human fears and how overcoming and accepting these fears drives and defines our lives.

YVES’ New EP "I Did"

Green Vinyl. The arrival of a new Mogwai album - their eleventh - is cause for great celebration. The album's title, The Bad Fire, is a working-class Glaswegian term for Hell. It reflects the difficult time that members of the band were going through. New to the studio was American producer John Congleton, known for his work with Explosions In The Sky, Sigur RĂłs, John Grant and pretty much everyone in between. Congleton's work can be heard on the album's three singles. The album opener "God Gets You Back" sounds like Daft Punk being hunted by My Bloody Valentine, while "Fanzine Made Of Flesh" sounds like a victory parade for a baby yeti; and "Lion Rumpus" does actually sound like a lion rumpus. The music of Mogwai is a difficult thing to describe, but an easy thing to experience. At punishing volume, it can annihilate your body, leaving you as little more than a head which should by rights fall helplessly to the ground. Yet the music contains an updraft, a sense of beauty encased in the onslaught. This holds you up, suspended and empowered, reminding you that paradise is your birthright. This is especially true of The Bad Fire. It may have been created in dark conditions, but all that is transcended by the act of four musicians working together here, now, in the moment - the only place where Mogwai exist.
The trio of Mary Chapin Carpenter, Julie Fowlis, and Karine Polwart first came together as a writing experiment coming out of the pandemic lockdown. With touring off the calendar, multi-Award winning US singer-songwriter Carpenter was looking for something new and reached out to Fowlis and Polwart, two highly acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriters whose work she had long admired. Prompted by admiration and respect for each other’s work, the trio quickly came up with a plan and, once able, met in Northern Scotland for an extended writing retreat to see what magic could be made. The success of this initial experiment led to a second writing session and, in early 2024, the 10-song album Looking For The Thread was recorded at Real World Studios in Box, England, with Josh Kaufman (Bob Weir, The National, The Hold Steady) producing and a world-class band of musicians: Rob Burger (piano, organ, accordion, keys),Chris Vatalaro (drums, percussion), Cameron Ralston (bass), Caoimhin O’Raghallaigh (hardanger d’amore) and Josh Kaufman himself (guitar, keys). The album features tracks written by all three artists, who take turns performing and collaborating on each song. Looking For The Thread will release on January 24, 2025 with Thirty Tigers worldwide.

The last decade has seen Michigander quietly emerge as a 21st century troubadour whose deft balance of rock energy, alternative adventurousness, and heart-on-his-sleeve songcraft continues to endear audiences and tastemakers alike. Born in Michigan and based in Nashville, singer, songwriter, and producer Jason Singer has steadily progressed one gig and release at a time. However, he truly steps into his own on his self-titled full-length debut album, Michigander. “The last ten years were awesome,” he says. “Everything built up to this point though. To make an analogy, the EPs were like television episodes of my story, and the album is the movie version. It’s blown up on the big screen. I’m just getting started, but this is my introduction to the world.” Throughout a busy 2024, he crafted what would become Michigander. Inspired by the likes of TV On The Radio, Blur, Idles, and The National, he embraced a newfound confidence and continued to sonically break down boundaries, taking his time.
After a decade releasing music as Years & Years, Polari is literally Olly Alexander talking the talk. He bonded with Danny L Harle over a mutual love of 80s club music, that period of uncompromising, avant-garde pop which nonetheless snuck into the mainstream. Polari remained a north star throughout the creative process, a secret language likewise lacking widespread recognition but still influential in plain sight. And after a long history of secrets and subtext, Polari is ultimately an open and universal pop record about those needs that transcend time, sexuality, and self: what it means to belong, to be loved, and (Polari literally translates as “to talk”) to connect.

Indie Exclusive - The "Family Tree" vocal group was born from a Brockington-Saunders family reunion. Dr. Elijah Saunders and Mrs. Venus Robinson organized the first gathering in Baltimore in 1975 to explore their shared heritage. At a second reunion in South Carolina in 1977, the Family Tree singers were formed. Dr. Saunders recognized their outstanding vocal talent and believed they could serve as God's messengers, sharing their message beyond just family events. With the creative direction and expertise of Julius Brockington, this LP was composed and recorded. Not much more is known about this Christian band, but they evolved from jamming at a family reunion to recording some of the finest gospel music of the 1970s. The result is a surprisingly well-produced and highly sought-after collection of songs. Though rooted in gospel, this record effortlessly blends into funk, soul, and dance. Now available on pink-colored vinyl.
Avis would see two releases in total, a Ray Sharp solo record (AVIS-1002) but more relative to our story, The Ebonys - Back In My Arms b/w I Can't Help But Love You (AVIS-1001). Recorded in 1968 and released in 1969 the record failed to chart, or maybe get radio play at all. This was the very first release for Clarence, David, James, and Jennifer as The Ebonys. Written and produced by Ray and arranged by the late, great Roland Chambers, the single seems to have long been forgotten. Perhaps it was overlooked, or overshadowed by the very successful career The Ebonys would go on to have at PIR, under Gamble & Huff. In 1971, The Ebonys' single You're The Reason Why was in the ten on the U.S. R&B Charts, a first for PIR.
Fifty-five years later, after a seemingly endless effort by Raymond Waterhouse to relive some of that late 1960s glory with later bands like Waterhouse, Live A Little, Profit, The Four Accents, The Ebonys original reel-to-reel master tapes from the Avis label sessions have been found and remastered and sound as good today as they did back in 1969. In that original session for Ray at Sigma Sound Studios with Joe Tarsia doing the mix, there were three songs done in total, which will finally see a proper release on a 7" / 45rpm.
Open Wide marks a giant leap forward for Irish four-piece Inhaler. The album, recorded with producer Kid Harpoon, is the sound of a band stepping out of their comfort zone. Squid’s new album Cowards is about evil. Nine stories whose protagonists reckon with cults, charisma and apathy. Real and imagined characters wading into the dark ocean between right and wrong.
Cowards is Squid’s most courageous album: simultaneously growing in scope and returning to basics. The band recorded Cowards at Church Studios in Crouch End with Mercury prize winning producers Marta Salogni and Grace Banks. On additional production is longtime shifu and collaborator Dan Carey, who recorded the band’s first two albums. The record was mixed in Seattle by John McEntire, before being compressed by the rich analogue chain of Heba Kadry’s mastering in Brooklyn, New York.
Squid have come a long way since forming in 2016 as an instrumental jazz band for a monthly night in Brighton. Their debut album Bright Green Field (2021) arrived as the world was starting to open up after the pandemic and they broke into the top 5 in the UK chart. In 2023 they released their sophomore album, the brooding O Monolith, which took the band all over the world and broke new ground that hardly seemed possible years prior.

choke enough, the full-length studio debut from French artist Oklou, is a patient, masterful execution of ephemeral soft club electronic and texturally alluring indie pop. Features Bladee, underscores, with production from Danny L Harle, A. G. Cook, Nick Leon, and more. HTRK step into their 21st year on reflective terms, launching a series of collaborations, covers/remixes, installations, and performances alongside the new repress of their full-length debut, Marry Me Tonight. First released in 2009 via Blast First Petite, the album saw it's first vinyl pressing in 2015 via Ghostly International and has since been out of stock. In late 2024, Marry Me Tonight becomes available in limited edition pink and black vinyl, also finally on streaming services.Few groups in history elevate mood to such singular, smoldering supremacy as the Australian duo of Jonnine Standish and Nigel Yang, aka HTRK (or "hate rock" if informed). Across two decades of work and wounds, HTRK's sound has shape-shifted between densities and intensities, noise and nakedness, but never wavered in it's delicate poetic gravity. In HTRK's sound world, cavernous reverberations of dub techno are mixed with frosted post-punk motifs and the gravelly imperfections of industrial, reimagined in the setting of a dingy basement.Like all HTRK albums, Marry Me Tonight was singular in sound and circumstance. It's the only album the outfit recorded from start to finish as a trio, and it's the only HTRK record that bears the co-production stamp of Rowland S. Howard. Breathy, caustic, and rife with contradiction, Marry Me Tonight took the raw material recorded on 2005's Nostalgia and transformed it into a pop record - pop that buckled and warped beneath the glare of Howard, fellow producer Lindsay Gravina, and the HTRK trio: Jonnine Standish, Nigel Yang and Sean Stewart. Howard died at the end of 2009; Stewart died the year after. Things would never be the same. The band would carry on and reach new heights despite it all, but as a trio, this is their definitive document.
The Velveteers bring a visceral energy to their explosive sophomore album, A Million Knives, loaded with blistering rock anthems infused with melodic indie songwriting. After several wildly popular singles out on Penrose Records, alongside labelmates Thee Sacred Souls, The Altons gear up to release their debut album on Daptone Records. With lead vocals shared between Adriana Flores and Brian Ponce the interplay between their unique timbres brings a romantic quality to the music that is absent in many of today's soul offerings. Steeped with moody ballads, soulful, tejano-kissed duets and Bond theme psychedelia–Heartache in Room 14 is poised to be the "must have" album of 2025.
Partners in life and music, Sarah and Austin McCombie have captured the adoration of fans nationwide and praise from Garden & Gun, American Songwriter, Paste and No Depression. Amid an impressive touring schedule, the two have already released three full-length records and somehow find energy to run their farm in their home state of North Carolina, a work ethic and connection to community that comes through in their songwriting. In 2020, the band played 194 neighborhood concerts as part of their concept The Stay at Home Tour, allowing them to connect with fans in a time of need. The following year, the duo caught the attention of PBS and filmed a limited series titled On the Road that is currently airing nationwide. The McCombies are poised for their most ambitious year yet, including a stacked headlining tour with their full backing band. Their fourth album Be Real with Me will be released independently on February 14, 2025
Describing Chase Atlantic’s sound as of their fourth full-length, LOST IN HEAVEN is both simple and impossible. The Australian-born, LA-based trio is instantly identifiable, yet incredibly difficult to put a title or genre on either their sound or the audience that adores them. They fit in just as well playing massive pop festivals as they do touring with rock bands. With an array of hits across multiple genres, Chase Atlantic has picked up one of the widest-ranging fan bases in all of music.

"Every song on this album deals with some aspects of him and some aspects of her and some aspects of us. The ideal of sharing space with someone can be challenging no matter how short or long. We’ve had moments of doubt, moments of clarity, moments of regret and moments of solid faith." - Michael and Tanya
